There are various supplements that are currently sold on today's Fat burners commonly contain a stimulants which are believed to speed up the metabolic processes of the body. Caffeine, green tea are common stimulants. Other common stimulants found in fat burners include; guarana, chocamine, synephrine, yerba mate, and chromium polynicotinate. All of this sounds too good to be true. Well it's all not true. There is no proof that metabolism can be altered with any OTC product or even by a prescription drug enough to see the results on a scale. Giving a chemical to a rat and observing that it might increase their metabolism a tiny bit has no relevance for humans. Even the strongest stimulants like the prescription amphetamines do not actually speed up anything. Don't confused anxiety and jitteryness with increasing metabolism. Best advice, look at the recent hydroxycut recall: people died, needed liver transplants, ended up with destroyed livers and jaundice and then decide for yourself. Remember all fat burners are classified as food supplements and thus are not examined closely by the FDA until consumers start seeing problems. Remember the PPA recall a few years ago?
