Losing Weight by Cutting Calories Improves Memory and Cognitive Abilities
January 26, 2009:

In a study published in  the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Dr Foel from the University of Munster in Germany eported that reducing calorie intake led to improve mental functions. The author said, "reducing calories may lower insulin levels and increase  sensitivity of brain receptors.

This may result in allowing memories to be maintained longer." It's well known that losing weight prolongs life and lessens medical problems. Here is the first evidence that mental function may improve as well.Whether reducing calories will prevent or lessen dementia is unknown. The study confirms that losing weight at any age has. significant health benefits.
