March 27, 2009: Washington Times: Obesity Conference Call: The Washington Post writes: It boils down to this: If you consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. Conversely, if you use more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. A major new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine emphasizes this exact point. “Reduced-calorie diets result in clinically meaningful weight loss regardless of which macro-nutrients they emphasize.” In short, if weight loss is the goal, total calorie consumption is the key…” Both senators point to the good example of President Obama's daily exercise and healthy eating even thru the 2008 campaign.
